Elgee Park covers 322 hectares of rolling hills at Merricks North on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. With views across Port Phillip Bay to Melbourne, the property is a family home, a working farm and a personal place that reflects the passions of the Myer family.

Yulgilbar Quarter Horse Stud was started back in 1954 when Sarah Myer’s father, the late Sam Hordern (Snr), and King Ranch Australia imported the first four registered Quarter Horse Stallions from America.
The Horderns bred a line of cross Quarter horses that won many equestrian and western events and were the first of a very successful breeding program that started in NSW and moved to Elgee Park in 1976. Today the stud includes a large stable complex with day yards, an indoor arena and two round yards.
The passion for quarter horses is still alive and well at Elgee Park.

At Elgee Park, Sarah Myer continues her family’s interest in Santa Gertrudis cattle. This hearty, cherry red breed, known for quality beef, milking and calving originated in Texas and was imported to Australia by Sarah’s father in the 1950s. Today Elgee Park is home to around 200 Santa Gertrudis and Angus cattle.
